HBG Hosts A Hair Raising Event

17/3/2008

Lampton Ave came alive on Thursday, when thirteen brave employees shed their hair in front of a large crowd for the Hazell Bros Team World's Greatest Shave event.

The event was the first mass shave in Tasmania for the Leukaemia Foundation's 2008 World's Greatest Shave. The shave was held from 12-2 and incorporated an employee barbecue and get together.

Hazell Bros Director Robert Hazell and Commercial Manager Brad Klaffer were part of the Team, losing their locks to raise more than $5,000, which will be put towards research, patient care, and transport.

Mr Hazell said that the event highlighted Hazell Bros' community focus.

"As an Employer of Choice, our focus is on our employees and the communities in which we live and operate.

"With World's Greatest Shave, we are bringing our employees together and raising money for a worthy cause," he said.

Employee Rebecca Cripps said that it was a valuable team building exercise.

"It has been great to socialise with people from all areas of the business and put some faces to names," she said.

Raigan O'Brien's shoulder length hair was clean shaven after she surpassed her individual fundraising target of $2,000.

Damien Cowen opted for a shave and colour hairdo that resembled an airport runway, while Tamika Wesdijk decorated her hair with brightly coloured hearts.
